We are encouraged always to pray for those who bear the responsibility of government. Since our Prime Minister is the key decision-maker in our democracy, it is important we pray for him and those caring for him that he may pull through his time in intensive care and be restored to health.
In this week leading to Easter we also remember that death does not have the last word; that our times are in the hands of the God who made us, that at his last Jesus commended himself into the hands of his and our Father (Luke 23.46), and three days later rose again. So he could promise a grieving woman “he who lives and believes in me will never die.”John 11.26.
We therefore also commit ourselves with our Prime Minister into the hands of God who will and can deliver us from death and the fear of death itself.
